This chip aims to deliver top-tier frame rates in CPU-intensive titles, offering a more accessible entry point into the AM5 ecosystem.

The details stem from reliable hardware leaker chi11eddog, who shared the core specifications on X. According to the leak, the Ryzen 7 7700X3D will feature eight cores and sixteen threads, mirroring the architecture of its more expensive sibling. It is also expected to retain the massive 96MB of L3 cache - comprising 32MB of standard cache with 64MB stacked on top - which is the secret weapon behind AMD's gaming dominance.

How It Compares to the Ryzen 7 7800X3D

While the core count and cache size remain identical to the wildly popular Ryzen 7 7800X3D, the primary difference lies in the clock speeds. The rumored 7700X3D operates at a base clock of 4.0 GHz and boosts up to 4.5 GHz. This represents a reduction of 200 MHz on the base clock and 500 MHz on the boost clock compared to the 7800X3D.

Despite the lower frequencies, the processor reportedly maintains a total power draw of 120 watts.
