System builders looking to maximize performance in small-form-factor chassis have a new hybrid option. ERYING has launched a fresh lineup of ERYING MoDT motherboards powered by Intel Core i7-13798HRE and i5-13598HRE processors.
These compact boards measure just 175 by 215 millimeters, bridging the gap between mobile efficiency and desktop expandability. They are specifically designed for industrial PCs, embedded systems, and custom workstations that require wide-temperature operation.
Desktop Expansion Meets Mobile Silicon
At the top of the stack, the Intel Core i7-13798HRE features a 14-core, 20-thread configuration (6 Performance cores and 8 Efficient cores) boosting up to 5.0GHz with 24MB of L3 cache. The more affordable Intel Core i5-13598HRE offers a 12-core, 16-thread setup reaching 4.8GHz. Both chips operate at a 55W base TDP.
Crucially, neither processor includes integrated graphics. Builders will need to pair these motherboards with a discrete GPU to get any display output, which is a significant consideration when planning a compact build.
Despite the small footprint, ERYING has equipped the boards with a PCIe Gen5 x8 slot and a secondary PCIe Gen3 x4 slot. Memory is handled by two standard DDR4 UDIMM slots, while storage options include a PCIe Gen4 x4 M.2 slot, a PCIe Gen3 x4 M.2 slot, and two SATA ports.
Pricing and Availability
The ERYING Core i7-13798HRE motherboard is priced at 1,399 yuan (approximately $196), while the Core i5-13598HRE variant costs 1,199 yuan (around $168). Rear connectivity includes two 10Gbps USB-A ports, six 480Mbps USB-A ports, and a standard 1GbE RJ-45 networking jack.

The SFF Trade-Off
The decision to omit integrated graphics fundamentally changes the target audience for these MoDT boards. While the 55W TDP and compact 175x215mm footprint scream "mini-PC," the mandatory inclusion of a discrete GPU means builders will need a chassis large enough to accommodate a graphics card.
However, the inclusion of a PCIe Gen5 x8 slot provides massive bandwidth for modern GPUs or high-speed expansion cards. For users building specialized workstations or portable gaming rigs that were always going to use dedicated graphics, this platform offers an incredibly dense, cost-effective foundation.
