Publisher City Connection has slated the remaster for a 2027 release in Japan, with support for Japanese, Traditional Chinese, and Simplified Chinese language options.
In the game, series protagonist Keiichi Maebara and his friends compete in brutal mahjong battles where the consequences of losing are severe. To survive the psychological horror of Hinamizawa, players are actively encouraged to use in-game cheats to gain an unfair advantage over their opponents. The upcoming release will also be available on the Nintendo Switch and PC via Steam, ensuring the niche title reaches a broader modern audience.
