Fantasy Flight Games is officially bringing Daredevil and Echo to the Marvel Champions card game in the upcoming Fear No Evil campaign expansion. Releasing this July, the new set introduces six customizable scenarios and pits players against Kingpin's criminal empire. The expansion introduces a unique gameplay mechanic that requires heroes to earn the city's trust before they can directly damage the final boss, fundamentally changing how players approach the endgame.
The Fear No Evil expansion expands the traditional campaign structure by offering six scenarios instead of the usual five. Players can mix and match these scenarios with different villains from Kingpin's syndicate as they progress toward the final confrontation.
Kingpin's Syndicate and New Mechanics
The campaign features Kingpin as the primary antagonist, supported by five hand-picked allies who can also be fought as standalone villains. Each introduces specific tactical challenges to the board:
- Bullseye: Adds an extra boost icon to every card in his deck, significantly increasing his attack power and scheme progression.
- Electro: Gains additional boost cards during her attacks by spending charge counters, which she accumulates whenever she schemes.
- Hammerhead, Purple Man, and Typhoid Mary: Complete the syndicate lineup, each bringing unique disruptions to the hero's strategy.
The final boss battle against Kingpin introduces a punishing opening phase. At the start of the fight, Kingpin immediately summons each player's nemesis minion into play. Furthermore, Kingpin is completely invulnerable to damage at the beginning of the encounter.
To break his defenses, players must gather Public Support (Public Support) from the citizens of New York by defeating minions. Only after shifting the tide of public opinion can players deal direct damage to Kingpin.
The Defenders Roster Expansion
Following the release of Daredevil and Echo, Fantasy Flight Games is preparing to reunite the street-level heroes with upcoming Defenders and Shadowland decks. This future wave of playable characters will officially introduce Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, Iron Fist, and Elektra to the game, allowing players to build a complete Defenders lineup.
